I’ve been sold on 19 year old Oberlin student Will DiMaggio aka JAW JAM from the first listen. Today, he let loose a stunning EP preview for his as of now title-less debut on Live For The Funk (large ups to them for letting the world in on this man’s music). Highly reminiscent of CMYK, it very well could be every bit as good. Perfectly sculpted, rich analog tones flit about warm, bubbly, tuned drums and vocal snippets to create a sonic space that just feels nice to be in. Once you get over how well the sound palatte works, the arrangements draw you in, as different parts tuck and weave amongst each other and pull you along. Obey City lends a nice remix to the EP.
