“Simon Says” Get The Trap Treatment

One of my least favorite parts of the current incantation of so-called trap music is producer’s apparent need to emulate the Dubstep build-up/break-down. It is possible to make music at 140 BPM with lots of hi-hats and hip hop samples that doesn’t have absurd varieties of the former and the latter. You might ask, can your beats still “drop” without them? Yes, young padawan they sure can. Anyways, griping aside, room for creativity within the whole circuit is quickly dwindling and the wheat has certainly separated from the chafe. I marvel at the fact that their hasn’t been one decent “Simon Says” attempt until now though. Brillz and Etc! Etc! handle the remix duties here and to be honest with you, the track is pretty mediocre until about the 1:42 mark. There’s really no need for the bleepy synth stabs, but it certainly bumps. This is something I can fux with. I’m sure you can find out about Brillz and Etc! Etc! elsewhere so just enjoy streaming the track here and grab it for yourself here.
