Sweater Beats Remixes Papercutz’ “Where Beasts Die”
When I first read the song title, I thought it said “Where Beats Die” and assumed it was some apocalyptic statement on the state of instrumental hip hop music. Alas, Sweater Beats’ rhetoric isn’t quite that grand, but the Brooklyn resident can craft some pretty epic beatwork. If you’re not familiar with Sweater Beats, his melancholic take on Portugese pop group Papercutz’ “Where Beasts Die” is a perfect place to start, representing his careful approach to vocal-centered hip hop beats. “MLLN DLLR”, out now on Bondax’s Justus label, is more in your face (and a great track in its own right), but I prefer the mellow half of his production dichotomy. The remix is part of Papercutz’ “Where Beasts Die” remix package and is set for a release before the calendar year is up.
